Ana Martinez

I’m a wine expert and passionate traveler based in Oregon, raised in both Argentina and Spain—two countries where food, wine, and connection are a way of life. I grew up surrounded by bold flavors and rich traditions, which naturally led me into a career in hospitality.

Over the years, I’ve worked in both restaurants and luxury hotels and resorts, gaining a deep appreciation for exceptional service and the joy of sharing great food and drink. That spirit infuses every tour I lead.

In 2024, I earned the WSET Level 4 Diploma (DipWSET), one of the wine industry’s most respected and demanding certifications. It gave me a global lens on wine and strengthened my ability to create meaningful, immersive experiences for my guests.

What I do:

Since 2017, I’ve led small-group and private wine tours to Europe and Argentina. Our destinations have included Spain, Portugal, Italy, Greece, and France. We have enjoyed iconic regions in Spain and Portugal like Rioja, Ribera del Duero, and the Douro Valley—as well as lesser-known gems like Bierzo and Priorat. Beyond the Iberian Peninsula, we have enjoyed experiencing Mediterranean islands such as Crete, Sardinia, an Malta, as well as the delights of mainland Greece and Italy. Each tour is tailored to the interests of the travelers and includes not just world-class wine tastings, but also unforgettable local cuisine and visits to historic towns, villages, and landmarks.

My unique language and cultural skill-set allows us to gain a more authentic experience. I grew up speaking both European and South American Spanish, I have spoken English since childhood, and have lived in the United States since coming to college here. I am fluent in Italian. Additionally, I can communicate in Portuguese, German, and French. I have lived on three continents and am especially sensitive to cultural nuance. We won’t be visiting large wineries with busloads of tourists being processed through visitor centers. We will be talking to winemakers, dining like locals, and appreciating regional treasures.

My tours are intimate by design—no more than eight people—so there’s space for spontaneity, storytelling, and a truly personalized experience. Whether you’re sipping aged sherry in a centuries-old bodega or exploring a hilltop castle between tastings, you’ll experience the richness and diversity of each region through its wine, food, and history.

Though wine is my professional focus, I’m also a devoted tea drinker and believe that both wine and tea invite us to slow down, savor, and connect more deeply - with a place, a culture and each other.

I’d love to welcome you on a journey through the landscapes, flavors, and stories that inspire me.

Let’s go wine tasting!

My Philosophy:

“Travel like friends. Explore like locals. Taste like experts.”
